 Starting in 1997, Honda started the first gen aluminum frames. The first gen frames were thick, rigid and were a big change from the previous steel frames. Then in 2000, Honda came out with the second gen aluminum frame, which was less rigid. It also had a smaller and thinner twin-spar aluminum frame. Which provided the rigidity decrease. That made for better handling. Then in 2002, they came out with the third gen aluminum frame. Which was thinner, and lighter. The prototype was built in 1971, but it was not until late 1972 that production of out of the box racers began. It was made available for sale to the general public in 1973. The CR250 was produced for nearly 37 years, 2007 being the final year of production.

The name pit bike originated from the use of a Honda Z50. The ride around the pit areas of dirt bike races and race events across the United States. The fairly cheap price and the mobility of these bikes made them easy to use. When at racing events. Popular dirt bike movies like the 2001 Crusty Demons of Dirt 3 show. How these small motorcycles can be used to do things other than just riding back and forth in the pits. A part of this movie shows people taking huge bicycle jumps on a Z50 in someone’s back yard.

Motocross was first evolved in the U.K. from motorcycle trials competitions. Such as the Auto-Cycle Clubs's first quarterly trial in 1909 and the Scottish Six Days Trial that began in 1912. When delicate balancing and strict scoring of trials were dispensed with in favour of a race to be the fastest rider to the finish. It was called scrambles, said to have originated in the phrase, "a rare old scramble" describing one such early race.Originally known as scrambles racing in the United Kingdom, as the sport grew in popularity, the competitions became known internationally as motocross racing, by combining the French word for motorcycle,motocyclette, or moto for short.

Following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia and the dismantling of the communist bloc. the Jawa consumer motorcycles and the Speedway competition bikes were divided into separate companies. In the nineties.  JAWA Speedway bikes were successful. while the Jawa company has struggled. As of 2006 the JAWA mostly produce bikes similar to Honda 250 cc. 125 cc and 50 cc motorcycles and large bike with a 650 cc rotax engine.the iconic  two-stroke twin motor.

They kept the same frame with minor suspension changes until they stopped production of any 2-stroke in 2007.

Lots of people have different taste in dirt bikes but my favorite dirt bike would have to be a KTM 300 2 stroke. To this day. the KTM 300 is considered the best bike for racing. And riding on tight trials.  Two-stroke or four-stroke. It got a significant update in 2004. But even the ones made between 2000 and 2003 were pretty good. The two versions were the EXC and the MXC. The latter of which had more desert-oriented gearing. I have always wanted to own a ktm. Those bikes are awesome if i could pick out one bike i would take a 250 2 stroke ktm.

The Yamaha YZ250F is a  motorcycle first released in 2001 by yamaha It has a five-valve. 4 stroke motor instead of a 2 stroke and initially had a steel frame and an aluminum subframe. which was replaced in the 2005 model with an all-aluminum frame. From 1974 through 1982 the engine sported a 70 mm bore and a 64 mm stroke. That will produce a displacement of 250 cc. In 1983, the bore was reduced to 68 mm and the stroke was increased to 68 mm producing a displacement of 247 cc. This is one of my favorite bikes of all time. They are super fast but still really good for trail riding and things like that. This bike might be older but it will keep up with the newer bikes that are in the same cc class. I would love to buy one of these i would probably get rid of my cr for it.

I have a Honda cr 250 2 stroke. The bike used to be raced so it has hot cams in it and all decked out to be raced. Which can be a good thing but also can be a bad thing. Good thing about it being all decked out is that its a lot faster then a regular stock cr 250. Bad thing is if you do not put new pistons and crackshaft there will be to much power running to the stock parts an brake them. Like what happen to me we decked everything out and did not change the crankshaft. The crankshaft then decided to snap in half on my bike. Which really makes things difficult because i have to tear the whole motor apart once again. Now that i know what I am doing it wont take as long to take it apart.

Two stroke dirt bikes are very temperamental  when it comes to trying to get them to start. Sometimes they fire right up and you can go but then other times you may have to replace the spark plug or drag start them. Then you get the ones that lock up on you when trying to start it. Then you have to get the whole top  end tore off to be fixed. This happened to me. That's not a good time. When that happens then you have to replace the pistons and rings.

The 4 stroke dirt bikes are very different then the 2 stroke bikes. The 4 stroke does not get the oil mixed with the gas it just runs straight gas which has its pros an cons. Some of the pros that comes with having a 4 stroke is that you can just use regular gas and go. With 2 strokes you have to mix the gas correctly like 32:1 or 50:1 lower the number the richer the gas is with oil.

There are many different types of dirt bikes there are four strokes and there is two strokes. The four strokes you just put straight gas in it instead of putting oil in the gas. Their is certain type of oil you put in the gas and mix it all together then it will run properly because if you put regular gas in there it will ruin the motor of the dirt bike. The 2 stroke dirt bikes are way faster then the 4 stroke because it has the oil in the gas running through the motor making everything just run a little bit quicker.
